Hello cats and kittens! It's been a while since I've posted and in the past few days I've been getting a lot of the same questions, so I thought I would post a blog to answer the questions so I don't have to retell the story over and over and over again. I don't want it to lose its magic by being repeated so often.
SO! On Friday, March 16 around 9:30 pm, J asked me to marry him and I said yes, which means we are now engaged. BOOM.
THE STORY:
To be honest, we've been talking about spending the rest of our lives together since probably 3 months into the relationship. So, the topic of engagement has never been a taboo thing for us to talk about, we were just waiting for the right time. Rather, he was waiting for the right time. On Thursday night we were sitting on the couch together and he gave me this big old sob story about how he got screwed over on his taxes and he had hoped to use that money to buy me "the ring that I deserved". So, I of course consoled him and told him that I wasn't impatient and that I really didn't care when we got engaged bla bla bla.
The next night he sent me a text while I was at work asking if he could take me on a walk when I got home. It was a beautiful 70 degree night, so of course I said yes. He took me to Harriet Island in St. Paul (where we ended our first date) and we walked around the park, there was a saxophone player that we passed on the walk. Oh so romantic, right? We ended up under a bridge and sitting on the exact same bench we ended our first date on, right next to the river. He reached into his camera bag, I thought he was getting his camera, but he pulled out a ring instead and asked me to marry him.
I reacted like an excited puppy and tried to climb him like a tree, then I remembered to say yes and that was that.
Needless to say, I'm over the moon. I'm super excited and happy and soooo thankful for all of the support we've been getting from friends and family. This is going to be a good time :)
